We have had 5 Meetings this year to develop our individual projects and visions for our future endeavors. I am thankful to be around so many motivated people who are conceiving and cultivating their ideas and passions. The group has maintained 8-12 participants, and of tthere has been a wide variety of projects, and skill bases.

Needs and Projects Include;

Nurture Communities – Elza

To address health equity in low income and underserved communities through enhance holistic health approaches, and increase training opportunities.

**Media needs include production of teaching materials, and a video about heath and healing.

Secrets and Intimate Endeavors — Euda Green http://www.facebook.com/pages/Trilogy-Secrets-and-Intimate-Endeavors/221456632572

The program is helping to effect health and wellness through inter-personal relationships in people of color and women. Trilogy’s creators recognized there is a direct relationship between the social inequities of race, class and gender that makes it challenging to creating/maintaining healthy relationships for many reasons including, low self-esteem, limited or no positive examples to learn from, and depression/anger, etc. These are all issues that Trilogy is sure can be overcome by creating avenues of information for people that have no access to resources or a lack of trust/belief in the resources that are available.

Sembrado Semillas - Sandra

Intergenerational reconnection with youth and agricultural heritage. They will be growing crops native to the San Luis Valley, which is the oldest town in Colorado. Red potatoes, white corn (Chicos), and sweet peas will be on their menu this growing season. They are also in Development of a garden which will be housed at the San Luis Senior Center.

**Media needs include equipment and a multi media outreach tool, such as a video and mural

Journey Through our Heritage – Asia & Danny

Is a cultural based education program. They will be working of increasing training for students at the Metropolitan State College of Denver who mentor local high school youth. They have a yearly “Journey through our Heritage” event which brings together schools to complete an art prject, a play, and collective essays to compete for scholarships. Their needs are training and increased capacity to raise income for scholarships.

HYPE – Jared

Cultural arts and wellness program. The emphasis is to utilize tolls of HipHop as a platform for successful development of youth and communities. Currently working in area middle schools Hype teachers develop the individuals strengths while keeping in the global economic system and how it affects those individuals. Also their goals include creating a network of linking artists and jobs.

**Media need is to develop an infomercial on how to get art in school as well as document the life of the project.

Long Term Intentions include:

Changing the paradigm of health through increassed awareness and access, health equity, trainings for capacity building and efficacy of practicioners, provide community leaders (promotoras) as the first level of care in community.
Sustainable clinics and case management
Finding money for scholarships for trainings (bodytalk, college)
Finding more opportunities to do international skills shares and exchanges
Creating community spaces, and curricula development
Expand projects throughout Colorado and Nationally
Organize and bridge organizers
Produce weekly shows – including internet radio and Mexican TV
Research and clinical trials of culturally relevant community resources.
Find support for creating an interdisciplinary clinic

None of us live in a vacuum – unless you consider the vacuum of space.. . We all are a string in a web created by our own networks, intentions, creations, and sheer willpower, but now it is time to make our NETworks as efficient as possible, so we can catch more of the opportunities that are passing us by. Here is an example:

The City of Denver has been awarded the following amounts specifically as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act: $55.6 MILLION dollars. .

Our community has the inherent Wisdom, Strength, Ability and Assets to create a healthier life for ourselves and for future generations. We as collaborators each play a vital role in the development of our environment and reality.
